กรอบอ้างอิงเฉื่อย ในกลศาสตร์คลาสสิคและทฤษฎีสัมพันธภาพพิเศษ คือ กรอบอ้างอิงของวัตถุซึ่งเป็นกรอบที่มีแรงลัพธ์กระทำเป็นศูนย์หรือก็คือไม่มีความเร่งเกิดขึ้น นั่นคือกรอบนี้จะอยู่ในสภาพหยุดอยู่นิ่งหรือกำลังเคลื่อนที่ด้วยความเร็วคงตัว ในเชิงการวิเคราะห์ มันคือกรอบอ้างอิงที่อธิบายถึงเวลาและอวกาศว่าเป็นเนื้อเดียวกัน (homogeneous) เติบโตเท่ากันทุกทิศทาง (isotropic) และอยู่ในพจน์ที่ไม่ขึ้นกับเวลา แนวคิดทางฟิสิกส์ของระบบซึ่งอยู่ในกรอบอ้างอิงเฉื่อย จะไม่มีปัจจัยภายนอกที่ส่งผลต่อระบบ กรอบอ้างอิงเฉื่อยยังมีชื่อเรียกอื่นว่า inertial reference frame, inertial frame, Galilean reference frame, หรือ inertial space.^{[ต้องการอ้างอิง]}
