เบื้องหลัง

ด้านของจอห์น ซีนาและเวด บาร์เร็ตต์ ซึ่งในเฮลอินเอเซล (2010) ซีนาได้แพ้ให้บาร์เร็ตต์ ทำให้ซีนาต้องเข้ามาร่วมเป็นสมาชิกกลุ่มเดอะเน็กซัส โดยในระหว่างปล้ำก็ถูกแมคกิลลิคัตตีและแฮร์ริสเข้ามาเล่นงานซีนา ต่อมาในแบรกกิ้ง ไรท์ส (2010) บาร์เร็ตต์ได้ชิงแชมป์ WWEกับแรนดี ออร์ตัน โดยมีซีนายืนอยู่ข้างเวที โดยบาร์เร็ตต์ถูกซีนาใส่ Attitude Adjustment ทำให้บาร์เร็ตต์ชนะฟาล์ว ออร์ตันยังเป็นแชมป์ต่อไป และในเซอร์ไวเวอร์ซีรีส์ บาร์เร็ตต์ได้ขอท้าชิงแชมป์กับออร์ตันอีกครั้ง และมีซีนาเป็นกรรมการพิเศษ โดยถ้าบาร์เร็ตต์ชนะก็จะได้เป็นแชมป์ WWE และซีนาก็จะได้ออกจากการเป็นสมาชิกกลุ่มเน็กซัสอย่างถาวรแต่ถ้าบาร์เร็ตต์แพ้ ซีนาก็ต้องออกจาก WWE ในทางด้านของ เรย์ มิสเตริโอ และอัลเบร์โต เดล รีโอ ซึ่งจะต้องเจอกันในเซอร์ไวเวอร์ซีรีส์ โดยเป็นแมตช์การปล้ำแทกทีม 10 คน ใครโดนกดนับ 3 หรือโดนทำให้ยอมแพ้จะต้องออกจากการปล้ำ โดยมีทีมของ เดล รีโอ นำโดย เดล รีโอ, ดรูว์ แม็กอินไทร์, โคดี โรดส์, ไทเลอร์ เร็กส์ และแจ็ก สแวกเกอร์ ปะทะกับ ทีมของ เรย์ ที่มีทั้ง บิ๊กโชว์, โคฟี คิงส์ตัน, เอ็มวีพี และคริส มาสเตอส์ ในทางด้านของแชมป์อินเตอร์คอนติเนนทัล ดอล์ฟ ซิกก์เลอร์ และคาวาล ซึ่งในสแมคดาวน์ คาวาลได้ชนะซิกก์เลอร์ จากนั้นได้ประกาศขอท้าชิงแชมป์ในเซอร์ไวเวอร์ซีรีส์ และซิกก์เลอร์ได้รับคำท้า
