แถบหงส์

แถบหงส์ (Swan bands) คือ คุณลักษณะของสเปกตรัม (spectra) ของดาวฤกษ์คาร์บอน (carbon stars), ดาวหาง และ การเผาไหม้ของเชื้อเพลิงไฮโดรคาร์บอน ได้รับการตั้งชื่อตามชื่อของนักฟิสิกส์ชาวสก๊อตแลนด์ที่ชื่อ วิลเลียม สวอน (William Swan) ซึ่งเป็นคนแรกที่ได้ทำการศึกษาวิเคราะห์สเปกตรัมอนุมูลของสารประกอบไดอะตอมมิค คาร์บอน C₂ (radical Diatomic carbon) ในปี 1856
