Mind your own business เป็นสำนวนภาษาอังกฤษที่ใช้กันทั่วไป อาจจะแปลเป็นภาษาไทยว่า “ไปยุ่งกับเรื่องของตัวเองเถอะ” ที่หมายความว่า หยุดยุ่งกับเรื่องที่ไม่ใช่เรื่องของตนเองและไปทำสิ่งที่เป็นของตนเอง
คริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 20
ในคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1930 สำนวนก็แปลงเป็นสแลง ในประโยค “Mind your own beeswax” (ไปปั่นขี้ผึ้งของตัวเองเถอะ) ซึ่งอาจจะทำให้ความรุนแรงของความหมายอ่อนลงบ้าง ศัพทมูลวิทยาพื้นบ้าน (Folk etymology) ให้คำอธิบายของที่มาของแสลงนี้ว่าใช้กันในสมัยเมื่อมีการเริ่มตั้งถิ่นฐานในสหรัฐอเมริกาเมื่อกลุ่มสตรีจะนั่งหน้าเตาผิงปั่นเทียนด้วยกัน แต่ก็มีทฤษฎีอื่นเกี่ยวกับที่อธิบายถึงที่มาของสำนวนนี้
ในนวนิยายวิทยาศาสตร์เรื่อง “The Great Explosion” เอริค แฟรงค์ รัสเซลล์ย่อวลีนี้เป็น “MYOB” หรือ “Myob!” ซึ่งหมายถึงการแข็งข้ออย่างหนึ่งบนดาวนพเคราะห์แกนด์ส อาจจะเป็นได้ว่ารัสเซลล์เป็นผู้ริเริ่มคำย่อนี้ที่ปัจจุบันใช้กันแพร่หลายในสหรัฐอเมริกา
