As of ตุลาคม 3, 2021, there have been four champions with one reign each. The inaugural champion was Adam Cole. Ricochet is the longest reigning champion at 161 days. Johnny Gargano has the shortest reign at 4 days (WWE recognizes it as 25 days due to tape delay, but still the shortest), and is the oldest champion, winning the title at 31. Velveteen Dream is the youngest champion, winning the title at 23.

Velveteen Dream is the current champion in his first reign. He won the title by defeating Johnny Gargano at the NXT tapings on January 30, 2019 in Winter Park, Florida (aired on February 20).
