ปลาเป้า (ลาว : ປາເປົ້າ ) เป็นสกุล ของปลาปักเป้า สกุลหนึ่ง ในวงศ์ปลาปักเป้าฟันสี่ซี่ (Tetraodontidae)
ใช้ชื่อสกุลว่า Pao (/เป้า/) ซึ่งหมายถึง "ถุง" หรือ "กระเป๋า" ในภาษาไทย หรือภาษาลาว โดยทั่วไปแล้วหมายถึง "ปลาปักเป้า" ทั้งในภาษาไทยและภาษาลาว ("เป้า" เป็นคำที่ใช้เรียก ปลาปักเป้าในภาษาอีสาน ) โดยปลาปักเป้าในสกุลนี้ เป็นปลาปักเป้าขนาดเล็กอาศัยอยู่ในน้ำจืดหรือน้ำกร่อยในบางชนิด พบมากในแหล่งน้ำต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะในภาคอีสานของไทยและลาว
ในช่วงฤดูวางไข่ ปลาจะดุร้ายก้าวร้าวมากเป็นพิเศษ เนื่องจากหวงแหนไข่ จะกัดหรือทำร้ายผู้ที่บุกรุกถิ่นที่อยู่หรือถิ่นวางไข่ ไม่เว้นแม้กระทั่งมนุษย์ โดยปลาขนาด 20 เซนติเมตร จะกัดด้วยฟันอันแหลมคมเป็นแผลกว้างประมาณ 1 เซนติเมตร
