ปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในประเทศจีน

ประเทศจีนมีปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมอยู่หลายด้าน ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบต่อสภาพแวดล้อมทางชีวกายภาพอย่างรุนแรงเช่นเดียวกับสุขภาพของมนุษย์ การทำให้เป็นอุตสาหกรรมอย่างรวดเร็วตลอดจนการกำกับดูแลด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมที่หละหลวมได้ส่งผลให้เกิดปัญหา โดยโธมัส วี ฮาร์วูด ที่สาม ได้กล่าวว่า มี 16 เมืองที่มีมลพิษเป็นอย่างมาก จากที่มีอยู่ทั้งหมด 20 เมืองในประเทศจีน รัฐบาลจีนรับทราบถึงปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นและทำการตอบสนองต่าง ๆ ส่งผลให้มีการปรับปรุงในบางส่วน แต่การตอบสนองดังกล่าวได้รับการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ว่าทำได้ไม่เพียงพอ ส่วนปี ค.ศ. 2012 ได้มีการเคลื่อนไหวของประชาชนเพิ่มขึ้นในเรื่องการตัดสินใจของรัฐบาล ที่ได้รับการมองว่าเป็นการสร้างความเสียหายต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม และเจ้าหน้าที่พรรคคอมมิวนิสต์ที่เกษียณแล้วได้เผยว่ามีผู้ทำการประท้วงด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมมากกว่า 50,000 รายในประเทศจีนเมื่อช่วงปี ค.ศ. 2012
