วงศ์มะละกอ หรือ Caricaceae เป็นวงศ์ของพืชใบเลี้ยงคู่ในอันดับ Brassicales,พบในเขตร้อนของอเมริกากลาง อเมริกาใต้และแอฟริกา เป็นพืชไม่ผลัดใบ อายุสั้น มีสปีชีส์เดียวคือ Vasconcellea horoviziana เป็นไม้เลื้อยและมีสามสปีชีส์ของสกุล Jarilla เป็นไม้ล้มลุก หลายสปีชีส์มีผลที่รับประทานได้และเป็นแหล่งของปาเปน [1].
