สงครามกลางเมืองซูดานใต้ เป็นสงครามกลางเมืองในซูดานใต้ระหว่างกองทัพของรัฐบาลและฝ่ายต่อต้าน ในเดือนธันวาคม ค.ศ. 2013 ประธานาธิบดีกีร์กล่าวหา Riek Machar อดีตรองประธานาธิบดีกับผู้อื่นอีก 10 คนว่าพยายามก่อรัฐประหาร Machar ปฏิเสธข้อกล่าวหาและหลบหนีไปนำ SPLM – ฝ่ายต่อต้าน (SPLM-IO) ทำให้เกิดการต่อสู้ระหว่าง Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) กับ SPLM-IO ซึ่งภายหลังลุกลามเป็นสงครามกลางเมือง ทหารยูกันดาสู้รบร่วมกับกำลังรัฐบาลซูดานใต้ต่อกบฏ สหประชาชาตินำผู้รักษาสันติภาพเข้าในประเทศตามภารกิจสหประชาชาติในซูดานใต้ (UNMISS)
