เตยทะเล ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์: Pandanus tectorius หรือ Pandanus odoratissimus ชื่ออื่น ๆ คือ ลำเจียก ปะหนัน ปะแนะ เตยเล Hala (ภาษาฮาวาย), Bacua (ภาษาสเปน), และ Vacquois (ภาษาฝรั่งเศส) เป็นพืชท้องถิ่นในไทย มาเลเซีย ออสเตรเลียตะวันออก และหมู่เกาะในมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก เป็นไม้ยืนต้น สูง 4-8 เมตร มีหนามสั้น ๆ ทู่ ๆ ที่ผิวของลำต้น ที่โคนต้นมีรากค้ำจุน ใบเดี่ยว ผิวใบเรียบเป็นมัน ดอกเป็นดอกช่อ แยกเพศแยกต้น ดอกตัวผู้เป็นช่อดอกยาว 30 - 60 ซม. มีใบประดับที่ช่อดอกย่อย สีขาว กลิ่นหอม ดอกตัวเมียเป็นช่อออกที่ปลาย เกาะกันคล้ายผล เกือบกลม
ผลเตยทะเลเป็นผลกลุ่ม ผลย่อยยึดกันแน่นจนมองเหมือนผลเดี่ยว คล้ายผลสับปะรด พบตามบริเวณชายหาดหรือป่าชายเลน ใบใช้ทำเครื่องจักสาน โดยเฉพาะชนพื้นเมืองในมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก รากเป็นยา แก้ไข้ ขับปัสสาวะ รากอากาศเป็นยาแก้หนองในและนิ่ว สารสกัดหยาบจากลำต้นใต้ดินสามารถยับยั้งการเจริญของไมยราบยักษ์ ถั่วผี ถั่วเขียวผิวดำ ผักกาดหอมได้
