โรคโปลิโอ (อังกฤษ: poliomyelitis, polio, infantile paralysis) เป็นโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสเฉียบพลันซึ่งติดต่อจากคนสู่คนทางอุจจาระ-ปาก ชื่อนี้มาจากภาษากรีกว่า poliós (πολιός) หมายถึง สีเทา, myelós (µυελός) หมายถึงไขสันหลัง และคำอุปสรรค -itis หมายถึงการอักเสบ

การจำแนกประเภท

แม้ว่าปัจจุบันโรคโปลิโอจะพบน้อยในโลกตะวันตก แต่โรคโปลิโอยังพบประจำถิ่นในเอเชียใต้และทวีปแอฟริกา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในประเทศปากีสถานและไนจีเรียตามลำดับ นับแต่มีการใช้วัคซีนโปลิโอไวรัสอย่างกว้างขวางในกลางคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1950 อุบัติการณ์ของโรคโปลิโอลดลงอย่างมากในประเทศอุตสาหกรรมหลายประเทศ

เมื่อวันที่ 27 มีนาคม ค.ศ. 2014 องค์การอนามัยโลกประกาศว่าโรคโปลิโอถูกกำจัดหมดไปจากภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออก เอเชียใต้ เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งประกอบด้วยสิบเอ็ดประเทศ ได้แก่ บังกลาเทศ ภูฏาน เกาหลีเหนือ อินเดีย อินโดนีเซีย มัลดีฟส์ พม่า เนปาล ศรีลังกา ไทยและติมอร์ตะวันออก
