ยุทธการที่ฮ่องกง

ยุทธการที่ฮ่องกง (8–25 ธันวาคม 1941) ยังเป็นที่รู้จักคือ การป้องกันฮ่องกงและการยึดครองฮ่องกง เป็นหนึ่งในครั้งแรกของสงครามมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิกในสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง เช้าในวันเดียวกันกับการโจมตีเพิร์ลฮาร์เบอร์ กองทัพของจักรวรรดิญี่ปุ่นได้เข้าโจมตีคราวน์โคโลนีของบริเตนที่เกาะฮ่องกง การโจมตีในการละเมิดกฎหมายต่างประเทศ เช่น ญี่ปุ่นไม่ได้ประกาศสงครามกับจักรวรรดิอังกฤษ การโจมตีของฝ่ายญี่ปุ่นนั้นก็ต้องพบการต่อต้านจากทหารในฮ่องกงประกอบไปด้วยกองกำลังท้องถิ่นอย่างทหารอังกฤษ, แคนาดา และอินเดีย ภายในสัปดาห์ กองกำลังฝ่ายป้องกันได้ถูกทอดทิ้งจากแผ่นดินใหญ่และน้อยกว่าสองสัปดาห์ต่อมา กองกำลังฝ่ายการป้องกันบนเกราะนั้นไม่สามารถป้องกันได้ อาณานิคมจึงได้ยอมจำนนและถูกยึดครองในที่สุด
