รอยัลรัมเบิล (2012) เป็นรายการมวยปล้ำอาชีพศึกใหญ่ หรือ เพย์-เพอร์-วิว ของ ดับเบิลยูดับเบิลยูอี ในปี 2012 ซึ่งจะจัดเป็นปีที่ 25 แล้ว สถานที่จัดคือ สก๊อตเทรด เซ็นเตอร์ ใน เซนต์หลุยส์, รัฐมิสซูรี สหรัฐอเมริกา[3][4] โดยจะจัดในวันที่ 29 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2555 ซึ่งจัดหลังจากทีแอลซี: เทเบิล แลดเดอร์ แอนด์ แชร์ (2011) โดยจะมีแมตช์การปล้ำรอยัลรัมเบิล

สำหรับประเทศไทย ศึกรอยัลรัมเบิลมีออกอากาศทางทรูวิชั่นส์ ช่องทรูสปอร์ต ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 12 กุมภาพันธ์ 2012 ซึ่งช้ากว่าสหรัฐอเมริกาถึง 2 สัปดาห์

เบื้องหลัง

ในรอว์ 12 ธันวาคม ระหว่างแมตช์ จอห์น ซีนา กับ มาร์ก เฮนรี เคนได้กลับมาจากอาการบาดเจ็บโดยใส่หน้ากากอีกครั้ง และได้มาเล่นงานซีนาด้วยท่าโชคสแลมอย่างไม่มีเหตุผล ต่อมาในรอว์ 2 มกราคม จอห์น ซีนา ได้จับคู่กับ บิ๊กโชว์ และแซค ไรเดอร์ เจอกับ เคน, มาร์ก เฮนรี และแจ็ก สแวกเกอร์ ในแมตช์การปล้ำแทคทีม 6 คน แต่ว่าเคนไม่ออกมา เลยให้เป็นการปล้ำ 3 รุม 2 สุดท้ายซีนา, บิ๊กโชว์ และไรเดอร์เอาชนะไปได้ แต่ว่าหลังจากจบแมตช์ เพลงเปิดตัวของเคนดังขึ้น ซีนาเลยลงจากเวทีเดินตรงไปที่ทางเดินเปิดตัวเพื่อจะเคลียร์กับเคน แต่ว่าเคนโผล่มาจากใต้เวทีแล้วกระทืบไรเดอร์บนเวที จากนั้นเคนก็ลากขาไรเดอร์กลับหลุมบนเวที แต่ซีนาก็มาช่วยได้สำเร็จแล้วพยายามคลานนี้ห่างออกมา ทันทีทันใดนั้นหลุมก็ระเบิดและมีเพลิงโหมออกมาจากปากหลุมทันที

ในทีแอลซี: เทเบิล แลดเดอร์ แอนด์ แชร์ (2011) บิ๊กโชว์ได้คว้าแชมป์โลกเฮฟวี่เวทโดยชนะมาร์ก เฮนรี แต่หลังแมตช์เฮนรีมาลอบทำร้ายบิ๊กโชว์ โดยเอาเก้าอี้มาฟาดจากด้านหลัง และ DDT อัดใส่เก้าอี้ จนหมดสภาพ หลังจากนั้น แดเนียล ไบรอันวิ่งออกมาพร้อมกับกรรมการขอใช้สิทธิ์มันนีอินเดอะแบงก์ โดยบิ๊กโชว์อยู่ในสภาพที่ไม่พร้อมปล้ำ ทำให้ไบรอันคว้าแชมป์ไปในที่สุด ต่อมาในสแมคดาวน์ 6 มกราคม บิ๊กโชว์ได้ขแชิงแชมป์กับไบรอัน ปรากฏว่า บิ๊กโชว์จะใช้ท่าน็อกเอาต์พันซ์ แต่ไบรอันหนีลงมานอกเวที แล้วไปหาเรื่องเฮนรี จนทำให้เฮนรีผลักใส่ไบรอันล้มลงไป เลยทำให้บิ๊กโชว์ถูกปรับแพ้ฟาล์ว และไบรอันป้องกันแชมป์ไว้ได้ ต่อมา ในศึก สแมคดาวน์ (6 มกราคม 2012) บิ๊กโชว์ได้ขอรีแมตช์ชิงแชมป์กับไบรอันอีกครั้งโดยเป็นแบบไม่มีกฎกติกา และมีเอเจมายืนอยู่ข้างเวที ปรากฏว่าบิ๊กโชว์เผลอวิ่งไปชนเอเจล้มลงไป ขณะที่วิ่งไล่ตามไบรอัน ทำให้ไบรอันต้องมาดูอาการ โดยแมตช์จบด้วยการไม่มีคำตัดสิน
