ลุก แบซง (ฝรั่งเศส: Luc Paul Maurice Besson) เกิดเมื่อ 18 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2502 เป็นทั้งผู้กำกับ นักเขียนบท และผู้อำนวยการสร้างภาพยนตร์ชาวฝรั่งเศส

ชีวิตวัยเด็ก
ชีวประวัติในวัยเด็กของแบซงนั้นมีน้อยมาก เนื่องจากเขาไม่ค่อยยอมให้สัมภาษณ์ชีวิตส่วนตัวกับสื่อซักเท่าไร เกิดที่เมืองปารีส พ่อแม่ของเขาเป็นผู้ฝึกสอนดำน้ำ (scuba diving instructors) จุดนี้เองที่ทำให้ตัวเขาชื่นชอบเกี่ยวกับความลึกลับใต้น้ำและชีววิทยาใต้น้ำ แต่เมื่ออายุ 17 ปี เขาประสบอุบัติเหตุจากการดำน้ำ และหลังจากนั้นเขาก็เลิกดำน้ำไปเลย ถึงแม้ว่าจะหายดีแล้วก็ตาม แบซงได้กล่าวว่า จากอุบัติเหตุตรงนี้เอง ที่ทำให้เขาได้พบประสบการณ์บางอย่างที่ทำให้เขาอยากจะถ่ายทอดเป็นเนื้อเรื่องภาพยนตร์ให้คนอื่นได้ชม
ในช่วงชีวิตวัยรุ่น แบซงมีความคิดสร้างสรรค์หลายอย่างมาก ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เวลาที่เขาเบื่อ หรือไม่มีอะไรให้ทำ ก็มักจะเขียนเรื่องราวสั้น ๆ เล่น ๆ และมีเรื่องสั้นชิ้นหนึ่งที่เขาแต่งได้กลายมาเป็นหนังที่เขากำกับชื่อ The Fifth Element
ช่วงเริ่มเข้าสู่วงการ
พออายุได้ 18 ปี แบซงได้กลับไปปารีสอีกครั้ง และพยายามหางานที่เกี่ยวกับสาขาภาพยนตร์ แต่เขารู้สึกอึดอัดกับวิธีทำงานของวงการภาพยนตร์ฝรั่งเศส หลังจากนั้นจึงตัดสินใจย้ายไปอเมริกา นาน 3 ปี และได้ก่อตั้งบริษัทอำนวยการสร้างหนังของเขาเองชื่อ "Les Films du Loup" แต่อีกไม่นานก็ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น Les Films du Dauphin
อิทธิพล
แบซงนั้นถือว่ามีอิทธิพลต่อแนวทางการทำหนัง ต่อผู้กำกับรุ่นหลังอย่างมาก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องราวที่เกี่ยวกับ สาวนักฆ่าที่ไร้เดียงสาต่อโลก อย่าง นิกิต้า (2533) และหนุ่มนักฆ่ามืออาชีพที่ชื่นชอบการดื่มนมและรักต้นไม้ อย่าง ลีออง (2537) หลังจากที่หนัง 2 เรื่องนี้เข้าฉาย การ์ตูนคอมมิกส์ในอเมริกาบางเรื่องก็มีพล๊อตที่คล้ายคลึงกับ 2 เรื่องนี้ USA network TV ได้ฉายซีรีส์เรื่องยาวชื่อ La Femme Nikita ส่วนสถานีโทรทัศน์ ABCก็ได้ฉาย Alias ที่เจนิเฟอร์ การ์เนอร์ เป็นนักแสดงหลัก มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับสปายสาวผู้ลึกลับ
สำหรับในประเทศไทย หม่ำ จ๊กมก เคยให้สัมภาษณ์ไว้ว่า เขาชื่นชอบหนังเรื่อง "ลีออง" ของลุก แบซงมาก และเป็นแรงบันดาลใจในการกำกับหนังเรื่อง บอดี้การ์ดหน้าเหลี่ยมภาคหนึ่ง
