เจอราร์ด เจมส์ บัตเลอร์ (อังกฤษ: Gerard James Butler) เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 13 พฤศจิกายน ค.ศ. 1969 เป็นนักแสดงชาวสก็อต เป็นที่รู้จักดีในบท King Leonidas ในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง 300, ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง The Phantom of the Opera, และใน P.S. I Love You

ประวัติ

บัตเลอร์เกิดที่ กลาสโกว์ สก็อตแลนด์ เป็นบุตรชายของมาร์กาเร็ตและเอ็ดเวิร์ด บัตเลอร์ ปู่ย่าของเขามาจากไอร์แลนด์ เขาโตขึ้นมาในครอบครัวชนชั้นแรงงาน นับถือคาทอลิก ตอนอายุ 1-2 ปีเขาอยู่ที่มอนเทรียล ควิเบก และเมื่อพ่อแม่หย่าร้างกัน เขาอยู่กับแม่กับพี่น้องของเขา ลินน์และไบรอัน กลับมายังสก็อตแลนด์ ที่ราลสตัน ในเพสลีย์ เขาไม่ได้ติดต่อกับพ่อของเขาอีกจนกระทั่งเขาอายุได้ 16 ปี พ่อของเขาตายด้วยโรคมะเร็งเมื่อเจอราร์ดอายุได้ 22 ปี

บัตเลอร์เล่นละครเวทีเมื่ออายุได้ 12 ปีของโรงละครคิงส์ โรงละครที่มีชื่อเสียงในกลาสโกว์ แสดงในละครเพลงเรื่อง Oliver เขาเข้าศึกษาทางด้านกฎหมายที่ Glasgow University Law School เรียนถึง 7 ปี แล้วจึงกลับมาเล่นละครเวทีที่กรุงลอนดอน ในปี 1996 เขาแสดงนำในละครเวทีเรื่อง Coriolanus ที่เป็นภาคละครเวทีของหนังเรื่อง Trainspotting จากนั้นเขาแสดงในโรงละครในลอนดอน เรื่อง Snatch และของ ดอนมาร์ แวร์เฮ้าส์ ซึ่งเป็นผลงานของ เทนเนสซี่ วิลเลี่ยมส์ เรื่อง Suddenly Last Summer โดยร่วมแสดงกับ เรเชล ไวซ์

เขาแสดงภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Her Majesty, Mrs. Brown ในปี 1997 แสดงร่วมกับ เจได เดนช์ เขายังแสดงใน Fast Food และ One More Kiss ในปี 1999 ซึ่งเป็นผลงานภาพยนตร์ดัดแปลงของเชคอฟเรื่อง The Cherry Orchard และเรื่อง Harrison’s Flowers
