เหตุระเบิดในประเทศศรีลังกา พ.ศ. 2562

ในเวลาเช้าของวันที่ 21 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2562 ซึ่งเป็นวันอาทิตย์อีสเตอร์ เกิดเหตุลอบวางระเบิดครั้งร้ายแรงในโบสถ์คริสต์ 3 แห่งและโรงแรมหรู 3 แห่งทั่วประเทศศรีลังกา ต่อมาในเวลาบ่ายของวันเดียวกัน เกิดเหตุระเบิดขนาดเล็กที่ชุมชนการเคหะและเกสต์เฮาส์ในย่านชานเมืองของนครโคลัมโบ เหตุการณ์ทั้งหมดส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 253 คน ในจำนวนนี้เป็นชาวต่างชาติ 46 คน และเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจ 3 นาย และมีผู้บาดเจ็บอีกประมาณ 500 คน เหตุการณ์นี้เป็นเหตุก่อการร้ายขนาดใหญ่ครั้งแรกที่เกิดขึ้นในศรีลังกานับตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2552 ซึ่งเป็นปีสิ้นสุดสงครามกลางเมือง

ปูมหลัง

ประชากรส่วนใหญ่ของศรีลังกานับถือศาสนาพุทธ (ร้อยละ 70.2) รองลงมานับถือศาสนาฮินดู (ร้อยละ 12.6) ศาสนาอิสลาม (ร้อยละ 9.7) และศาสนาคริสต์ (ร้อยละ 7.4) โดยร้อยละ 82 ของคริสต์ศาสนิกชนในศรีลังกานับถือนิกายโรมันคาทอลิก ที่เหลือเป็นผู้นับถือนิกายแองกลิคันสายคริสตจักรซิลอนและกลุ่มนิกายโปรเตสแตนต์อื่น ๆ ในจำนวนพอ ๆ กัน

ผู้เคราะห์ร้าย

เหตุระเบิดส่งผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตที่ยืนยันแล้วจำนวน 253 ราย (ก่อนหน้านี้เชื่อว่ามี 359 ราย แต่ตัวเลขถูกปรับลดลงเนื่องจากการคำนวณผิดพลาดในครั้งแรก) ส่วนใหญ่เป็นพลเมืองศรีลังกา เป็นพลเมืองต่างชาติ 46 ราย นอกจากนี้ยังมีผู้บาดเจ็บอย่างน้อย 500 คน บางรายมีอาการสาหัส
