Follicular dendritic cell

Follicular dendritic cells (ตัวย่อ FDC) เป็นเซลล์ในระบบภูมิคุ้มกันของร่างกายที่พบในถุงเล็ก ๆ (follicle) ของต่อมน้ำเหลือง โดยอยู่บริเวณที่มีเซลล์บี (B cell areas) FDC ต่างกับเซลล์เดนไดรต์ (DC) เพราะไม่ได้มาจากเซลล์ต้นกำเนิดเม็ดเลือด (hematopoietic stem cell) ที่ไขกระดูก แต่มีกำเนิดจากเนื้อเยื่อเกี่ยวพันในตัวอ่อนที่เรียกว่า mesenchyme หน้าที่ที่เป็นไปได้ของ FDC ได้แก่ช่วยจัดระเบียบเซลล์ของเนื้อเยื่อต่อมน้ำเหลือง, รับแอนติเจนเพื่อสนับสนุนหน้าที่ของเซลล์บี, สนับสนุนให้กำจัดของเสียออกจาก germinal center และช่วยป้องกันไม่ให้เกิดภาวะภูมิต้านตนเอง กระบวนการเกี่ยวกับโรคที่ FDC อาจมีส่วนรวมทั้งเนื้องอกที่ FDC, การอักเสบเรื้อรัง, ความลุกลามของการติดเชื้อ HIV-1 และ neuroinvasive scrapie
