ระบบส่งข้อความทันที หรือ ไอเอ็ม (อังกฤษ: instant messaging, IM) คือระบบการส่งข้อความ ระหว่างสองคน หรือกลุ่มคนใน เน็ตเวิร์ก เดียวกัน เช่น การส่งข้อความผ่านทางอินเทอร์เน็ต โดยโปรแกรมที่ทำงานอาจเรียกว่า เมสเซนเจอร์ (อังกฤษ: messenger)

การทำงานของระบบส่งข้อความทันทีจำเป็นต้องใช้ซอฟต์แวร์ลูกข่าย โดยซอฟต์แวร์ทำการเชื่อมต่อระบบที่บริการเมสเซนเจอร์ การส่งข้อความผ่านระบบส่งข้อความทันทีในยุคแรก ตัวอักษรแต่ละตัวที่ทำการพิมพ์จะปรากฏทางหน้าจอของผู้ที่ส่งข้อความด้วยทันที ในขณะเดียวกัน การลบตัวอักษรแต่ละตัว จะลบข้อความทันที ซึ่งแตกต่างกับระบบส่งข้อความทันทีในปัจจุบัน โดยข้อมูลที่ปรากฏจะเกิดขึ้นหลังจากที่มีตกลงยอมรับส่งข้อความแล้ว ในปัจจุบันเมสเซนเจอร์ที่ได้รับความนิยมได้แก่ LINE WeChat MSN Messenger AOL Instant Messenger Yahoo! Messenger Google Talk .NET Messenger Service Jabber และ ICQ
