N. distillatoria เป็นพืชถิ่นเดียวของศรีลังกาและเป็นหม้อข้าวหม้อแกงลิงเพียงชนิดเดียวจากประเทศนี้ พบในพื้นที่เปียกชื้นตามป่าละเมาะ, ริมถนน, พื้นที่เปิดโล่ง และในป่า N. distillatoria ขึ้นที่ความสูง 0 ถึง 700 ม.จากระดับน้ำทะเล
