สกุลแรด เป็นสกุลหนึ่งในวงศ์แรด สมาชิกในสกุลมีนอเดียว ใช้ชื่อสกุลว่า Rhinoceros คำว่า "rhinoceros" มาจากภาษากรีก "rhino" แปลว่า "จมูก" และ "ceros" แปลว่า "เขา" สกุลนี้ประกอบไปด้วยแรด 2 ชนิดคือ แรดอินเดีย (Rhinoceros unicornis) และ แรดชวา (Rhinoceros sondaicus) ถึงแม้ว่าแรดทั้ง 2 ชนิดถูกคุกคามอย่างหนัก แต่แรดชวากลับเป็นสัตว์เลี้ยงลูกด้วยนมที่เสี่ยงต่อการสูญพันธุ์ที่สุดในโลก เหลือประชากรเพียง 60 ตัวเท่านั้นในชวาและเวียดนาม
สปีชีส์ - แรดอินเดีย (Rhinoceros unicornis) พบในภูมิภาคเอเชียใต้ จัดเป็นแรดทีมีเพียงนอเดียว มีลักษณะเด่นคือ ผิวหนังหนาและมีรอยย่นเห็นได้ชัดเจน
- แรดชวา (Rhinoceros sondaicus) พบในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มีลักษณะคล้ายคลึงกับแรดอินเดีย เป็นแรดชนิดที่หายากที่สุดในโลก และได้รับการจัดอันดับว่าเป็นสัตว์เลี้ยงลูกด้วยน้ำนมชนิดที่หายากที่สุดในโลกอีกด้วย สำหรับในประเทศไทยเดิมเคยพบแรดชนิดนี้ด้วย แต่ปัจจุบันได้สูญพันธุ์ไปจนหมดแล้ว
