ประวัติ

สติงสามารถเอาชนะริก แฟลร์ ในการชิงแชมป์โลกเฮฟวี่เวท NWA ได้สำเร็จ ในThe Great American Bash ต่อมาในศึก WCW Monday Nitro (26 มีนาคม 2001) สติงได้เจอกับแฟลร์ โดยเป็นคู่เอกและแมตช์สุดท้ายของ WCW ก่อนที่วินซ์ แม็กแมนจะซื้อกิจการ และสามารถเอาชนะแฟลร์ไปได้ด้วยท่า Scorpion Deathlock หลังแมตช์ได้มากอดแฟลร์ และขอบคุณที่อยู่สมาคมนี้มายาวนานมาก

ใน Impact! วันที่ 11 มกราคม 2016 ในรอว์ WWE ได้ประกาศว่า สติงได้เข้าสู่หอเกียรติยศดับเบิลยูดับเบิลยูอี เป็นคนแรกในปี 2016 และในช่วงระหว่างการกล่าวคำพูดหลังจากรับรางวัล สติงก็ประกาศรีไทร์ ถือเป็นการอำลาสังเวียนผืนผ้าใบอย่างเป็นทางการ ในวันที่ 2 เมษายน 2016 ในปี 2020 หลังจากที่หมดสัญญากับ WWE สติงได้เซ็นสัญญากับ AEW
