โดยรุ่นนี้เป็นรุ่นที่รวมความสามารถต่าง ๆ ที่มาจาก Kylin OS มาไว้ในตัวระบบด้วย โดยในปี พ.ศ. 2556 Canonical ได้ร่วมมือกับ Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China ในการสร้าง และออกระบบปฏิบัติการอูบุนตูที่รวมความสามารถ โดยมุ่งเป้าหมายไปที่ตลาดในประเทศจีน Ubuntu Kylin สามารถใช้ได้กับคอมพิวเตอร์ทุก ๆ เครื่อง

โดยรุ่นแรกที่ออกมาคือ Ubuntu Kylin 13.04 ซึ่งออกมาเมื่อวันที่ 25 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2556 ซึ่งเป็นวันเดียวกับที่ออก Ubuntu 13.04 ด้วย โดยเพิ่มความสามารถ Chinese input methods, ปฏิทินจันทรคติจีน, a weather indicator, และการค้นหาเพลงออนไลน์จาก Dash

ในรุ่นล่าสุดของ Ubuntu Kylin 14.10 ก็ได้มีการออกโปรแกรม Ubuntu Kylin Software Center (UKSC) ขึ้นมา และชุดซอฟต์แวร์อำนวยความสะดวกในการใช้งานคอมพิวเตอร์ที่เรียกว่า Youker Assistant

นอกจากนี้ ทีมงานที่พัฒนา Ubuntu Kylin ก็ได้ร่วมมือกับ Sogou ในการพัฒนา Sogou Input Method for Linux ด้วย แต่เนื่องจากว่าโปรแกรมนี้ไม่อยู่ในส่วนหนึ่งของซอฟต์แวร์เสรี จึงไม่ได้ถูกรวมไว้ในแผ่นติดตั้งของ Ubuntu Kylin แต่สามารถดาวน์โหลดได้จากเว็บไซต์ UKSC หรือ Sogou
