สกุลยาสุฮิโกทาเกีย เป็นสกุล ของปลาน้ำจืดขนาดเล็กจำพวกหนึ่ง ในวงศ์ปลาหมู (Botiidae) ใช้ชื่อสกุลว่า Yasuhikotakia (/ยา-สุ-ฮิ-โก-ทา-เกีย/)
มีรูปร่างโดยรวม คือ มีลำตัวยาว แบนข้าง คอดหางใหญ่ มีหนังหนาคลุมเกล็ดมิด มีเขี้ยวพับเก็บได้ในร่องบริเวณด้านหน้าของตา ปากเล็กยื่นแหลมมีหนวด 3 คู่ รอบปาก
ปลาในสกุลนี้ เดิมเคยจัดอยู่ในสกุล Botia ค.ศ. 2002 ดร.มอริส ก็อตลา นักมีนวิทยาชาวสวิสที่พำนักอยู่ในสิงคโปร์ ซึ่งเป็นผู้ศึกษาปลาน้ำจืดในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้นี้ ได้ทำการแยกสกุลของปลาหมูเสียใหม่ หลายชนิด โดยที่สกุล Yasuhokotakia นี้ โดยมากจะมีรูปร่างเล็กกว่าสกุล Botia และเป็นสกุลที่พบได้ในภูมิภาคอินโดจีน โดยทำการตั้งชื่อสกุลเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ ดร.ยะสุฮิโกะ ทะกิ นักเลี้ยงปลาและสำรวจปลาชาวญี่ปุ่น
กระจายพันธุ์ในลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง และลุ่มแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา มีทั้งหมด 7 ชนิด ได้แก่
ปลาหมูหางจุด (Yasuhikotakia caudipunctata ) ปลาหมูหางแดง (Yasuhikotakia eos ) ปลาหมูสัก (Yasuhikotakia lecontei ) ปลาหมูหลังยาว (Yasuhikotakia longidorsalis ) ปลาหมูขาว (Yasuhikotakia modesta )ปลาหมูค้อ (Yasuhikotakia morleti )ปลาหมูหางลาย (Yasuhikotakia splendida ) มักอาศัยอยู่รวมกันเป็นฝูง หากินตามพื้นท้องน้ำ มีความสำคัญต่อมนุษย์ ในแง่ของการใช้บริโภค โดยเฉพาะ ปลาหมูขาว และเลี้ยงเป็นปลาสวยงาม โดยมีชื่อเรียกในภาษาอีสาน ว่า "แข้วไก้"
เดิมทีปลาในสกุลนี้มีทั้งหมด 9 ชนิด แต่ในปี ค.ศ. 2012 คอทเทเลท ได้ทำการแยกเป็นสกุลใหม่ คือ Ambastaia ปลาหมูน่าน (A. nigrolineata ) และปลาหมูอารีย์ (A. sidthimunki )
