กลุ่มอาการหายใจลำบากในทารกแรกเกิด (อังกฤษ: infant respiratory distress syndrome (IRDS), neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, surfactant deficiency disorder (SDD), hyaline membrane disease (HMD)) เป็นกลุ่มอาการอย่างหนึ่งที่เกิดกับทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด เกิดจากการที่โครงสร้างปอดยังพัฒนาไม่สมบูรณ์ และยังไม่ทันสร้างสารสร้างแรงตึงผิว (surfactant) ขึ้นในถุงลม นอกจากนี้ยังอาจเกิดจากโรคทางพันธุกรรมที่ทำให้ร่างกายของทารกไม่สามารถสร้างสารเหล่านี้ได้เช่นกัน ทารกแรกเกิด 1% จะป่วยด้วยภาวะนี้ และยังเป็นสาเหตุการเสียชีวิตอันดับต้นๆ ของทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนด ทารกที่มีอายุครรภ์มากขึ้นจะพบเป็นภาวะนี้น้อยลง โดยทารกที่คลอดที่อายุครรภ์ 26-28 สัปดาห์ พบมีภาวะนี้ประมาณ 50% และทารกที่คลอดที่อายุครรภ์ 30-31 สัปดาห์ พบประมาณ 25% และยังพบบ่อยกว่าในทารกที่คลอดจากมารดาที่เป็นเบาหวาน และในทารกแฝดคนที่คลอดตามมาทีหลัง
