กล่องเสียงอักเสบอุดกั้น

ครุป หรือ กล่องเสียงอักเสบอุดกั้น (อังกฤษ: croup, acute obstructive laryngitis) เป็นการติดเชื้อในระบบหายใจอย่างหนึ่งที่มักเกิดจากไวรัส ภาวะนี้จะทำให้หลอดลมบวม ขัดขวางการหายใจ และทำให้เกิดอาการสำคัญได้แก่ การไอเสียงก้องคล้ายเสียงสุนัขเห่า การมีเสียงฮี้ด (stridor) ขณะหายใจ และเสียงแหบ ผู้ป่วยบางรายอาจมีอาการไข้และน้ำมูกไหลร่วมด้วย อาการของโรคมีทั้งเป็นเล็กน้อย ปานกลาง และรุนแรง มักเริ่มเป็นหรือเป็นมากเวลากลางคืน ระยะเวลาของการเจ็บป่วยรวมแล้วประมาณ 1-2 วัน

เชื้อที่เป็นสาเหตุของครุปบางส่วนป้องกันได้ด้วยการฉีดวัคซีน เช่น เชื้อไข้หวัดใหญ่ และเชื้อคอตีบ การรักษาที่สำคัญคือการให้สเตียรอยด์ครั้งเดียว ซึ่งอาจให้กินหรือให้ฉีดก็ได้ ถ้าอาการรุนแรงอาจจำเป็นต้องใช้ยาเอพิเนฟรีนพ่นแบบฝอยละอองเข้าทางการหายใจ ผู้ป่วยที่มีอาการรุนแรงบางรายอาจจำเป็นต้องนอนรักษาในโรงพยาบาล คิดเป็นประมาณ 1-5% ของผู้ป่วยทั้งหมด
