การลงคะแนนแบบคาร์ดินัล (อังกฤษ: cardinal voting) คือระบบการลงคะแนนใด ๆ ที่ยอมให้ผู้ลงคะแนนให้คะแนนผู้สมัครได้อย่างอิสระเป็นลักษณะการให้คะแนนหรือเกรด โดยมีชื่อเรียกอย่างอื่นว่า การลงคะแนนแบบจัดลำดับคะแนน (rated voting system) การลงคะแนนแบบมีการประเมินผล (evaluative voting system) การลงคะแนนแบบเกรด (graded voting system) และ การลงคะแนนแบบสัมบูรณ์ (absolute voting system) ระบบคาร์ดินัล (คาร์ดินัลคือเลขจำนวนนับ) ซึ่งใช้การวัดเป็นตัวเลขที่แน่นอน (cardinal utility) และการลงคะแนนแบบจัดลำดับ (ordinal method) เป็นระบบลงคะแนนสมัยใหม่ทั้งสองแบบหลักควบคู่กันกับแบบพหุนิยม

บัตรลงคะแนนสำหรับคะแนนอนุมัตินั้นไม่จำเป็นต้องให้คะแนนแยกหรือเป็นพิเศษ

การลงคะแนนแบบใช้การตัดสินแบบเสียงข้างมากใช้การตัดเกรดเหมือนที่ใช้ในโรงเรียน

ระบบการลงคะแนนที่ผู้ลงคะแนนสามารถเลือกให้คะแนนผู้สมัครแต่ละรายได้อย่างอิสระ ได้แก่

• แบบคะแนนอนุมัติ (approval voting, AV) เป็นวิธีที่ง่ายที่สุด โดยสามารถให้คะแนนผู้สมัครได้เพียงสองแบบ (0 หรือ 1) โดย 0 "ไม่อนุมัติ" และ 1 "อนุมัติ"
• แบบประเมินผล (evaluative voting, EV) หรือแบบคะแนนอนุมัติผสม (combined approval voting, CAV) ซึ่งใช้การลงคะแนน 3 แบบ (-1, 0, +1) ซึ่ง -1 คือ "ไม่เห็นด้วย" 0 คือ "งดออกเสียง" และ +1 คือ "เห็นด้วย"
• แบบคะแนนรวม (score voting) หรือแบบพิสัย (range voting) ซึ่งมีการให้คะแนนเป็นตัวเลข โดยผู้สมัครที่ได้คะแนนเฉลี่ยสูงสุด (หรือคะแนนรวมสูงสุด) เป็นผู้ชนะ
  • แบบคะแนนรวมใช้เลขแบบไม่ต่อเนื่อง โดยปกติคือ 0 ถึง 5 หรือ 0 ถึง 9
  • แบบพิสัยใช้การวัดแบบมีจุดทศนิยม ตั้งแต่ 0 ถึง 1

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีวิธีที่ใช้เลขจำนวนนับ (คาร์ดินัล) ในการลงคะแนนเลือกผู้แทนมากกว่าหนึ่งคน ซึ่งโดยปกติจะเป็นไปตามหลักสัดส่วน เช่น

• แบบคะแนนอนุมัติเป็นสัดส่วนมีลำดับ (sequential proportional approval voting)
