นางบำเรอ

นางบำเรอ (อังกฤษ: comfort woman; ญี่ปุ่น: 慰安婦 โรมาจิ: ianfu) เป็นคำเรียกสตรีในดินแดนที่กองทัพจักรวรรดิญี่ปุ่นยึดครองได้ก่อนสงครามโลกครั้งที่สองและในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง ซึ่งกองทัพญี่ปุ่นบังคับให้เป็นทาสทางเพศ (sexual slave) แม้สิ้นสงครามแล้ว การใช้คำว่า "นางบำเรอ" เรียกสตรีดังกล่าวต่อไป ก็เป็นที่โต้แย้งและคัดค้านกันมาตลอด โดยเฉพาะจากสตรีเหล่านั้นเองและจากประเทศของสตรีเหล่านั้น เพราะแท้จริงแล้วสถานะของพวกเธอมิใช่เพื่อ "บำเรอ" แต่เป็น "ทาสทางเพศ"

เด็กหญิงชาวจีนคนหนึ่งซึ่งเคยเป็นนางบำเรอใน "กองพันนางบำเรอ" (comfort battalion) ของกองทัพญี่ปุ่น ให้ปากคำแก่ทหารสัมพันธมิตรที่ย่างกุ้งเมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม ค.ศ. 1945

คำว่า "นางบำเรอ" แปลจากคำว่า "อิอันฟุ" ในภาษาญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งใช้เรียก "โสเภณี" เพื่อให้ฟังดูนุ่มนวลขึ้น

จำนวนสตรีที่ถูกจับเป็นนางบำเรอ มีประเมินไว้ต่างกันไป เช่น อิกูฮิโกะ ฮาตะ (Ikuhiko Hata) นักประวัติศาสตร์ชาวญี่ปุ่น ประเมินไว้ต่ำมากว่า มีสัก 20,000 คน ส่วนนักวิชาการชาวจีนคนหนึ่งว่า สูงถึง 360,000–410,000 คน แต่ตัวเลขที่แน่นอนก็ยังเป็นที่ค้นคว้าและถกเถียงกันอยู่ สตรีส่วนใหญ่มาจากประเทศที่ญี่ปุ่นยึดครองได้ เช่น เกาหลี, จีน, และฟิลิปปินส์ นอกจากนี้ ปรากฏว่า "สำนักบำเรอ" (comfort station) ของทหารญี่ปุ่นในญี่ปุ่นเอง รวมถึงในจีน, ไทย, นิวกินี, พม่า, ฟิลิปปินส์, มาเก๊า, มาเลเซีย, อินโดจีน, อินโดนีเซีย, และฮ่องกง มีการใช้สตรีจากติมอร์, ไต้หวัน, ไทย, นิวกินี, พม่า, มาเลเซีย, แมนจู, อินเดียตะวันออก, อินโดจีน, และดินแดนอื่น ๆ ที่ญี่ปุ่นยึดครองได้ สตรีกลุ่มเล็ก ๆ บางกลุ่มก็มาจากยุโรป เช่น จากเนเธอร์แลนด์และออสเตรเลีย เฉพาะสตรีที่เป็นชาวดัชต์ ประเมินไว้ที่ 200–400 คน

ตามปากคำของหลายบุคคล สตรีข้างต้นลักพามาจากบ้านในดินแดนที่ญี่ปุ่นยึดครองได้ และมีหลายกรณีที่สตรีถูกล่อลวงมาโดยสัญญาว่า จะพาไปทำงานในโรงานหรือร้านอาหาร หรือจะพาไปให้การศึกษาเล่าเรียนอย่างสูง แต่เมื่อได้ตัวมาแล้ว ก็ขังไว้ในสำนักบำเรอทั้งในประเทศบ้านเกิดของพวกเธอเองและต่างประเทศ
