รามนาถสวามีโกยิล

รามนาถสวามีโกยิล (ทมิฬ: இராமநாதசுவாமி கோயில்; Rāmanātasvāmi Kōyil) เป็นโบสถ์พราหมณ์บูชาพระศิวะบนเกาะราเมศวรัม ในรัฐทมิฬนาฑู ประเทศอินเดีย และเป็นหนึ่งในสิบสองชโยติรลึงค์, 275 ปาทัลเปตรสถลัม โกยิลมีการขยับขยายในศตวรรษที่ 12 โดยจักรวรรดิปัณฑยะ และครรภคฤห์ประธานได้รับการทำนุบำรุงโดยชัยวีระ จินไกอริยันแห่งอาณาจักรชัฟนา โกยิลนี้มีระเบียงที่ยาวที่สุดในบรรดาโบสถ์พราหมณ์ในประเทศอินเดีย เทพเจ้าองค์ประธานคือพระศิวะในรูปของลิงคัมของรามนาถสวามี เชื่อกันว่าประดิษฐานขึ้นโดยพระรามก่อนพระองค์จะข้ามสะพานไปยังลังกาทวีป ราชโคปุรัมของโกยิลสูล 53 เมตร

รามายณะระบุว่าพระราม อวตารปางที่เจ็ดของพระวิษณุภาวนาต่อพระศิวะเพื่อให้ยกโทษที่บาปที่สังหารพรหมิณขณะทำศึกกับราวณะในลังกาทวีป พระรามประสงค์จะมีศิวลึงค์องค์หนึ่งเพื่อบูชาพระศิวะ จึงได้รับสั่งให้หนุมานไปนำลึงค์นั้นมาจากหิมาลัย แต่หนุมานมาถึงช้า พระรามจึงเสกลึงค์ขนาดเล็กขึ้นจากทรายที่มีบนชายหาด ลึงค์นี้เชื่อกันว่าคือรามนาถสวามีลึงคัม องค์ประธานของโกยิลนี้ ซึ่งแทนองค์รามนาถสวามี (พระศิวะ) ปัจจุบันในครรภคฤห์ ประดิษฐานงึงคัมสององค์ องค์หนึ่งเสกขึ้นจากทรายโดยพระราม เป็นองค์ประธาน อีกองค์คือที่หนุมานนำมาจากเขาไกลาศ เรียกวิศวลึงค์ หรือวิศวลึงคัม
