สาธารณรัฐหลานฟาง

สาธารณรัฐหลานฟาง (Lanfang Republic; ภาษาจีน: 蘭芳共和國; พินยิน: Lánfāng Gònghéguó; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Lân-phang Kiōng-hô-kok) เป็นรัฐของชาวจีนที่ใช้ระบบกงสีในกาลีมันตันตะวันตก ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย ก่อตั้งโดยชาวจีนฮากกาชื่อหลัว ฟางปั๋ว (羅芳伯) เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2320 ก่อนจะสิ้นสุดลงโดยการยึดครองของดัตช์เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2427

การมาถึงของชาวจีน

สุลต่านแห่งบอร์เนียวตะวันตกได้นำเข้าแรงงานชาวจีนในพุทธศตวรรษที่ 23 เพื่อทำงานในเหมืองทองคำและตะกั่ว กลุ่มกงสีของแรงงานเหมืองได้จัดตั้งกลุ่มเพื่อปกครองตนเอง แต่หลานฟางเป็นที่รู้จักเพราะบันทึกไว้โดยยับ เซียงโยน บุตรเขยของกัปตันคนสุดท้ายของกงสีแห่งหลานฟาง ซึ่งแปลเป็นภาษาดัตช์ใน พ.ศ. 2428 ไม่มีหลักฐานที่เป็นเอกสารเกี่ยวกับกลุ่มกรรมกรเหมืองกลุ่มอื่น

การปกครองของหลัว ฟางปั๋ว

ผู้ก่อตั้งสาธารณรัฐหลานฟางคือหลัว ฟางปั๋ว ผู้มาจากเหมย์โจวในมณฑลกวางตุ้ง และมาอาศัยในเกาะบอร์เนียวเป็นเวลานาน ส่วนใหญ่เกี่ยวข้องกับการค้าและทำเหมือง เขาก่อตั้งบริษัทของเขาเอง หลัวได้จัดตั้งสาธารณรัฐหลานฟางขึ้นใน พ.ศ. 2320 เมืองหลวงอยู่ที่วันยินตะวันออกเพื่อปกป้องผู้ตั้งถิ่นฐานชาวจีนจาการกดดันของชาวดัตช์ หลัวได้รับเลือกเป็นประธานาธิบดี เขาได้นำหลักการปกครองแบบประชาธิปไตยมาใช้เช่น การมีส่วนร่วมของพลเมือง ตำแหน่งผู้บริหารต่างๆมาจากการเลือกตั้ง หลานฟางเป็นพันธมิตรกับสุลต่านอับดูร์เราะห์มานแห่งรัฐสุลต่านปอนเตียนัก

การบริหารของหลัวปฏิเสธการจัดตั้งราชวงศ์ แต่ดำเนินตามประเพณีของชาวจีน เช่น ประกาศใช้ปีที่ก่อตั้งสาธารณรัฐเป็นปีแรกของปฏิทิน แต่เขาก็ส่งรายงานไปยังราชวงศ์ชิงว่าเขาเป็นผู้ก่อตั้งสาธารณรัฐและส่งบรรณาการให้ราชวงศ์ชิง

หลัวเป็นประมุขของรัฐจนเสียชีวิตเมื่อพ.ศ. 2338 ชาวหลานฟางเลือกเจียง อู่ปั๋ว (江戊伯) เป็นประธานาธิบดีคนต่อไป มีชาวพื้นเมืองเข้ามาเป็นพันธมิตรกับหลานฟางมากขึ้น แต่จะมีชาวจีนในสาธารณรัฐเท่านั้นที่เลือกผู้นำได้

การรุกรานของดัตช์

เมื่อราชวงศ์ชิงอ่อนแอลงและไม่สามารถสนับสนุนสาธารณรัฐหลานฟางในฐานะรัฐบรรณาการได้อีก ทำให้หลานฟางเผชิญการรุกรานของดัตช์ ประชากรของสาธารณรัฐพยายามต่อต้านแต่ขาดแคลนอาวุธ ลิน อาห์ซินเป็นผู้นำคนสุดท้ายของหลานฟาง ชาวจีนในหลานฟางเดินทางไปยังสุมาตราและสิงคโปร์เพื่อหวังสร้างสาธารณรัฐชองชาวจีนแห่งใหม่ในเอเชียตะวันออก สงครามระหว่างชาวจีนกับกองทัพของดัตช์อีสต์อินดีสที่เรียกสงครามกงสี มีเหตุการณ์ที่สำคัญคือการขยายตัวสู่ชายฝั่งตะวันตกของบอร์เนียว (พ.ศ. 2365 – 2367) การต่อต้านของชาวจีนที่มนตราโด (พ.ศ. 2393 – 2397) และการลุกฮือของชาวจีนที่มันโดร์ บอร์เนียว (พ.ศ. 2427 – 2428) ในที่สุดชาวจีนจึงเสียการปกครองของตนเองไป ดัตช์มิได้ผนวกหลานฟางในทันทีแต่ตั้งระบอบหุ่นเชิดขึ้นมาแทน จนกระทั่งราชวงศ์ชิงล่มสลายใน พ.ศ. 2455 ดัตช์จึงประกาศผนวกดินแดน
