หินแห่งสโคน

หินแห่งสโคน (อังกฤษ: Stone of Scone สกอต: Stane o Scone) หรือเรียกได้อีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า หินแห่งชะตา (Stone of Destiny) และมักเรียกกันในประเทศอังกฤษว่า "หินราชาภิเษก" ซึ่งเป็นหินทรายสีแดงทรงสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้าซึ่งใช้ในพิธีบรมราชาภิเษกของพระมหากษัตริย์แห่งสก็อตแลนด์มาเป็นเวลานับร้อยๆปี และในภายหลังรวมถึงพระมหากษัตริย์แห่งอังกฤษ บริเตนใหญ่ และสหราชอาณาจักรด้วย ตามประวัติศาสตร์แล้ว หินแห่งสโคนถูกเก็บรักษาไว้ที่แอบบีย์สโคน (Scone Abbey) ในเมืองสโคน ใกล้ๆกับเมืองเพิร์ธ ในประเทศสก็อตแลนด์

หินแห่งสโคนมีขนาดประมาณ 26 นิ้ว (660 มิลลิเมตร) x 16.75 นิ้ว (425 มิลลิเมตร) x 10.5 นิ้ว (270 มิลลิเมตร) และมีน้ำหนักประมาณ 336 ปอนด์ (152 กิโลกรัม) ด้านบนของหินจะมีห่วงเหล็กซึ่งใช้สำหรับการเคลื่อนย้ายได้สะดวก ซึ่งหินแห่งสโคนได้ถูกใช้งานครั้งล่าสุดในปีค.ศ. 1953 ในพระราชพิธีบรมราชาภิเษกของสมเด็จพระราชินีนาถเอลิซาเบธที่ 2 แห่งสหราชอาณาจักร
