ขาลสา หรือ คาลซ่า (แปลตรงตัวว่า "เหล่าผู้บริสุทธิ์") หรือ อมฤตธารี หมายถึงกลุ่มนักรบพิเศษของบรรดานักรบซิกข์กลุ่มแรก หรืออาจหมายถึงชุมชนชาวซิกข์ ที่ยอมรับและเชิดชูให้ศาสนาซิกข์เป็นศาสนาและแนวทางการปฏิบัติตนของสมาชิกในชุมชน แนวคิดขาลสาเริ่มต้นขึ้นโดยคุรุโควินทสิงห์ คุรุซิกข์ท่านสุดท้าย ในปี 1699 การก่อตั้งขาลสานั้นถือเป็นจุดเปลี่ยนสำคัญในประวัติศาสนาซิกข์ ชาวซิกข์เฉลิมฉลองการก่อตั้งขาลสาในเทศกาลวิสาขี (Vaisakhi)

คุรุโควินทสิงห์ก่อตั้งขาลสาขึ้นหลังบิดาของท่านถูกประหารชีวิตด้วยการตัดศีรษะโดยจักรวรรดิโมกุล หลังแสดงการต่อต้านการดำเนินคดีกับศาสนิกชนของศาสนาอื่นนอกจากอิสลามซึ่งเป็นศาสนาหลักของจักรวรรดิ นำโดย จักรพรรดิออรังเซพ โดยเฉพาะการดำเนินคดีกับชาวฮินดูในกัศมีร์ที่ไม่ยอมเปลี่ยนศาสนาเป็นอิสลาม นักรบขาลสาจึงถูกก่อตั้งขึ้นเพื่อปกป้องศาสนิกชนซิกข์และฮินดูผู้บริสุทธิ์จากการรุกรานของจักรวรรดิ ขาลสาเข้ามาแทนที่ "วสันต์" และกลายเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นสำคัญของศาสนาซิกข์ในแง่ของการเมืองและการทหาร^:127

ซิกข์ขาลสาจะได้รับชื่อ "สิงห์" (บุรุษ) และ "Kaur" (สตรี) และต้องปฏิบัติตามกฏระเบียบเพิ่มเติม เช่น ห้ามสูบยาสูบ บุหรี่ ดื่มสุรา และห้ามรับประทานเนื้อสัตว์ และมีการแต่งกายพิเศษตาม ก 5 ประการ^:121–126 "ซิกข์สหัชธารี" นั้นตรงข้ามกับซิกข์ขาลสา สหัชธารีจะน้อมนำคำสอนมาปฏิบัติตาม และเชื่อถือในคุรุซิกข์ แต่ไม่เข้าร่วมพิธีรับชื่อ และไม่ปฏิบัติตาม ก 5 ประการ รวมถึงกฏบางกฏ สังคมขาลสาเป็นสังคมบุรุษนำเป็นหลัก จนมาถึงในยุคปัจจุบันที่เริ่มมีสตรีมีบทบาทในตำแหน่งผู้นำมากขึ้น
