เชสนัท มาคอว์ หรือ มาคอว์สีเกาลัด เป็นหนึ่งในสายพันธุ์ที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของมาคอว์ขนาดเล็ก มีขนาดประมาณ 45 ซม. (18นิ้ว) ซึ่งประมาณครึ่งหนึ่งคือความยาวของหางที่
สามารถพบได้ทางตอนเหนือของทวีปอเมริกาใต้จากปานามาไปทางใต้ Amazonian บราซิลและโบลิเวียกลาง
อายุเฉลี่ยอยู่ประมาณ40-50 ปี
ลักษณะ เชสนัท มาคอว์ หรือ มาคอว์สีเกาลัด ลำตัวส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นสีเขียวและจะมีสีแดงกับสีฟ้าบริเวณปีก หัวมีเกาลัดหรือสีน้ำตาลเหนือจะงอยปาก จะงอยปากเป็นสีดำและมีใบหน้าดวงตาเป็นสีขาวที่มีเส้นขนสีดำขนาดเล็ก ขึ้นอยู่บริเวณรอบดวงตา ในป่าบุคลิกภาพมักจะชอบอยู่เป็นกลุ่ม มีขนาดประมาณ 45-50 เซนติเมตร หรือ (17.5-19.5) นิ้วและมีน้ำหนัก 300-410 กรัม (11-14 ออนซ์)
