ปีเตอร์ เดอ โฮค (ดัตช์: Pieter de Hooch, Hoogh หรือ Hooghe; 20 ธันวาคม ค.ศ. 1629 (รับศีลจุ่ม) - ค.ศ. 1684) เป็นจิตรกรชาวดัตช์คนสำคัญของยุคทองของเนเธอร์แลนด์ของคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 17 ปีเตอร์ เดอ โฮคมีความเชี่ยวชาญทางการเขียนภาพชีวิตประจำวันและเป็นจิตรกรที่มีลักษณะการเขียนที่คล้ายคลึงกับโยฮันเนิส เฟอร์เมร์

ประวัติ

เดอ โฮค เกิดที่เมืองโรตเตอร์ดัม เขาเป็นบุตรของแฮ็นดริก แฮ็นดริกส์โซน เดอ โฮค ผู้มีอาชีพเป็นช่างอิฐ และอันแน็ตเยอ ปีเตอส์ ผู้มีอาชีพเป็นหมอตำแย เดอ โฮคผู้เป็นบุตรคนโตในบรรดาพี่น้องห้าคนและมีอายุยืนยาวกว่าน้องทุกคน ได้รับการศึกษาศิลปะในเมืองฮาร์เลมภายใต้จิตรกรภูมิทัศน์นีโกลาส แบร์เคม (Nicolaes Berchem) ตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1650 เดอ โฮคก็ทำงานเป็นจิตรกรและคนรับใช้ให้แก่พ่อค้าผ้าลินินและนักสะสมศิลปะชื่อยึสตึส เดอ ลา กร็องฌ์ และมีหน้าที่ติดตามในการเดินทางไปยังเดอะเฮก, ไลเดิน และเดลฟท์ ซึ่งต่อมาเป็นเมืองที่ย้ายไปอยู่ อาจจะเป็นไปได้ว่าเดอ โฮคยกงานที่เขียนทั้งหมดในช่วงนี้ให้แก่นายจ้างเพื่อเป็นการแลกเปลี่ยนกับห้องพักและปัจจัยอื่น ๆ จากการสำรวจทรัพย์สินต่อมาปรากฏว่าลา กรานจ์เป็นเจ้าของภาพสิบเอ็ดภาพที่เขียนโดยเดอ โฮค

แม้ว่าเดอ โฮคจะเขียนภาพให้ลูกค้าผู้มีฐานะดี แต่ตนเองมีบ้านเรือนอยู่ในบริเวณที่ยากจนที่สุดของเมือง ในช่วงเวลาเดียวกันนี้งานเขียนของเดอ โฮคก็เริ่มที่จะเป็นงานเขียนที่หยาบและใช้สีที่หนักขึ้น และฉากชีวิตประจำวันในบ้านเรือนอย่างง่าย ๆ ก็เปลี่ยนไปเป็นภาพที่ได้รับการตกแต่งอย่างหรูหราภายในห้องโถงขนาดใหญ่หรือในคฤหาสน์ชนบท นักวิชาการเชื่อว่างานของเดอ โฮคราว ค.ศ. 1670 กลายเป็นงาน "ประดิษฐ์" (stylized) และมีคุณภาพลดลง ทำให้สันนิษฐานกันว่าอาจจะมาจากสาเหตุที่ว่าสุขภาพเสื่อมลง เดอ โฮคเสียชีวิตในปี ค.ศ. 1684 ในโรงพยาบาลผู้ป่วยเป็นโรคจิตในอัมสเตอร์ดัมแต่ไม่มีหลักฐานเกี่ยวกับประวัติการเข้าไปรักษาตัว
