ภูมิรัฐศาสตร์

ภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ (อังกฤษ: geopolitics) คือ การศึกษาเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบทางภูมิศาสตร์ (มนุษย์และกายภาพ) ที่มีต่อการเมืองและความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ แม้ว่าภูมิรัฐศาสตร์มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับกลุ่มประเทศและความสัมพันธ์ที่เกิดขึ้น แต่ก็อาจมุ่งเน้นถึงสถานะอื่น ๆ ของรัฐอีกสองชนิด คือ รัฐอิสระโดยพฤตินัยซึ่งได้รับการรับรองอย่างไม่สมบูรณ์ และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการแบ่งเขตภูมิศาสตร์ระดับชาติ เช่น รัฐรวมอันเกิดจากการใช้ระบอบสหพันธรัฐ สมาพันธรัฐ หรือกึ่งสหพันธรัฐ
