ปลาปักเป้าอ้วน (อังกฤษ : Fat puffer ) เป็นสกุล ของปลาปักเป้า สกุลหนึ่ง ใช้ชื่อสกุลว่า Arothorn (/อะ-โร-ทรอน/) จัดอยู่ในวงศ์ปลาปักเป้าฟันสี่ซี่ (Tetraodontidae)
มีลักษณะ ลำตัวป้อม หัวทู่ จมูกแต่ละข้างมีปลายแยกออกเท่ากันเป็นเส้นคล้ายหนวดหรือเป็นเส้นแบน ๆ 2 เส้น จะงอยปากค่อนข้างยาว มีช่องระหว่างตากว้าง ครีบหลัง ครีบหู และครีบก้นมีลักษณะกลม ครีบหางตัดตรง ปลายจมูกเป็นแท่งคล้ายหนวด มีเส้นข้างลำตัว 1 เส้น มีหนามขนาดเล็กทั่วตัว ยกเว้นรอบปากและคอดหาง
ปลาปักเป้าในสกุลนี้ จัดเป็นปลาปักเป้าสกุลที่มีสมาชิกมากที่สุดสกุลหนึ่งในวงศ์นี้ หลายชนิดนิยมเลี้ยงเป็นปลาสวยงามหรือจัดแสดงไว้ในพิพิธภัณฑ์สัตว์น้ำ เป็นปลาปักเป้าที่อาศัยอยู่ในทะเลทั้งหมด โดยมีชนิดที่ใหญ่ที่สุด คือ A. stellatus ที่ยาวได้ถึง 48 นิ้ว
