กลุ่มอาการเบ็ควิท-ไวเดอมานน์

กลุ่มอาการเบ็ควิท-ไวเดอมานน์ (อังกฤษ: Beckwith–Wiedemann syndrome) เป็นความผิดปกติแต่กำเนิดอย่างหนึ่งส่วนใหญ่ปรากฏอาการให้เห็นตั้งแต่แรกเกิดทำให้มีอวัยวะบางส่วนใหญ่ผิดปกติและเพิ่มความเสี่ยงต่อการเป็นมะเร็ง แรกเริ่มแล้ว Dr. Hans-Rudolf Wiedemann เสนอให้ใช้คำว่า exomphalos-macroglossia-gigantism syndrome (EMG syndrome, กลุ่มอาการสะดือโป่ง-ลิ้นใหญ่ผิดปกติ-รูปร่างโตเหมือนยักษ์) เพื่อเรียกชื่อกลุ่มอาการที่ทำให้ผู้ป่วยมีอาการสามอย่างพร้อมกันข้างต้น ต่อมาจึงถูกเรียกชื่อเป็นกลุ่มอาการเบ็ควิท-ไวเดอมานน์ หลังจาก Prof. John Bruce Beckwith ได้เก็บข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมด้วยการชันสูตรศพพบว่าผู้ป่วยกลุ่มนี้ส่วนหนึ่งมีต่อมหมวกไตโตกว่าปกติมาก ลักษณะที่พบบ่อยในผู้ป่วย BWS ได้แก่ ลิ้นใหญ่ผิดปกติ ทารกตัวใหญ่ผิดปกติ มีความบกพร่องของผนังหน้าท้องในแนวแกน (เช่น สะดือจุ่น สะดือโป่ง กล้ามเนื้อหน้าท้องอ่อนตัว) หูผิดปกติ และมีน้ำตาลต่ำแรกเกิด
