หลังยึดเมืองอาชูร์ได้ พระเจ้าแนโบโพแลสซาร์และพระเจ้าไซอาซาเรสได้ร่วมกันตีเมือง(นิเนเวห์) เมืองหลวงของจักรวรรดิอัสซีเรีย จนในที่สุดในปีที่ 612 ก่อนคริสต์ศักราช พระองค์ก็ทรงยึดเมืองหลวงได้สำเร็จ(อาชูร์-อูบัลลิตที่ 2) (Ashur-uballit II) ผู้นำของอัสซีเรียได้ถอนทัพไปที่เมืองฮาร์รัน (Harran) ทางตอนเหนือของ(ซีเรีย) ต่อมาในปีที่ 610 ก่อนคริสต์ศักราช พระเจ้าแนโบโพแลสซาร์ได้เข้ายึดเมืองนี้ อาชูร์-อูบัลลิตที่ 2 และกองทัพพันธมิตรจาก (Necho II) ได้ยกทัพกลับมาที่ฮาร์รันอีกครั้ง แต่ไม่สามารถตีเมืองนี้ได้
