ปลาขี้ตัง หรือ ปลาตะกรับ (อังกฤษ : Scats ) เป็นปลาน้ำเค็มสกุลหนึ่ง ในวงศ์ปลาตะกรับ (Scatophagidae) ใช้ชื่อสกุลว่า Scatophagus (/สะ-แคท-โท-ฟา-กัส/)
มีรูปร่างคล้ายปลาในวงศ์ปลาผีเสื้อ (Chaetodontidae) คือ รูปร่างกลมและแบนข้างมาก แต่จะงอยปากไม่ยื่นยาว ปากเล็ก ครีบหลังมีก้านครีบแข็งแหลมคม รวมถึงก้านครีบก้น ซึ่งก้านครีบดังกล่าวมีสารพิษ ที่อาจตำหรือแทงถูกมือของผู้ที่จับต้องได้ แต่ทว่าก็ก่อให้เกิดพิษน้อยมาก
จำแนกออกได้เป็น 2 ชนิด
Scatophagus argus (Linnaeus , 1766) – ปลาตะกรับ, ปลาเสือดาวScatophagus tetracanthus (Lacepède, 1802) – ปลาตะกรับแอฟริกัน, ปลาตะกรับลายและชนิดที่สูญพันธุ์ ไปแล้ว คือ Eoscatophagus frontalis Tyler & Sorbini, 1999 (ชื่อพ้อง Scatophagus frontalis Agassiz, 1839 ) มีชีวิตอยู่ในยุคอีโอซีน ตอนกลาง พบในตอนเหนือของอิตาลี ในชั้นหินมอนเตโบลคา จากชั้นตะกอนดั้งเดิมของเทธีส
เป็นปลาทะเลที่สามารถปรับตัวให้อยู่ในน้ำกร่อยหรือน้ำจืดสนิทได้ มักอาศัยอยู่รวมกันเป็นฝูงใกล้รากไม้หรือกองหิน สามารถรับประทานได้และนิยมเลี้ยงกันเป็นปลาสวยงาม
