ไลแมน สปิตเซอร์
ไลแมน สปิตเซอร์ จูเนียร์ (อังกฤษ: Lyman Spitzer Jr.; 26 มิถุนายน ค.ศ. 1914 – 31 มีนาคม ค.ศ. 1997) เป็นนักฟิสิกส์ทฤษฎี นักดาราศาสตร์ และนักปีนเขาชาวอเมริกัน ในฐานะนักวิทยาศาสตร์ เขาทำงานวิจัยการก่อตัวของดาวฤกษ์, ฟิสิกส์พลาสมา และใน ค.ศ. 1946 ได้คิดค้นแนวคิดกล้องโทรทรรศน์ในอวกาศ สปิตเซอร์คิดค้นเครื่องพลาสมาสเตลลาเรเตอร์ และนาซานำชื่อเขาไปตั้งให้กล้องโทรทรรศน์อวกาศสปิตเซอร์ ในฐานะนักปีนเขา เขาเป็นคนแรกที่ปีนเขาธอร์กับดอนัลด์ ซี. มอร์ตัน
