ตัวหนังสือภาพ

ตัวหนังสือภาพ (อังกฤษ: pictogram) เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนการสื่อสารถึงความหมายคล้ายคลึงกับภาพของมันผ่านวัตถุทางกายภาพ ตัวหนังสือภาพมักใช้ในการเขียน และระบบกราฟิกที่คาแรกเตอร์มีภาพลักษณ์ที่มากพอสมควร

Pictography นั้นเป็นรูปแบบของการเขียนซึ่งใช้วิธี ได้แก่ ภาพการวาดเส้น ,คล้ายกับรูปแบบอักษรรูปลิ่ม และบางส่วนก็คล้ายกับอักษรเฮียโรกลีฟิค ซึ่งใช้การวาดเส้นเป็นตัวอักษรแบบสัทอักษร หรือจังหวะที่กำหนด ตัวหนังสือภาพบางรูป เช่น GHS hazard pictograms มีองค์ประกอบของภาษาที่เป็นรูปแบบ
