ทัมเบิลวีด

ทัมเบิลวีด (อังกฤษ: tumbleweed) เป็นส่วนโครงสร้างเหนือพื้นดินของพืชพลัดถิ่นหลายชนิด ที่เมื่อโตเต็มที่และแห้งจะแยกออกจากรากหรือลำต้นและม้วนเนื่องจากแรงลม ในสปีชีส์ส่วนใหญ่นั้น ทัมเบิลวีดเกิดจากส่วนของพืชทั้งหมดนอกเหนือจากระบบราก แต่ในพืชบางชนิดผลไม้กลวงหรือช่อดอกอาจทำหน้าที่แทนได้ ทัมเบิลวีดพบได้มากที่สุดในระบบนิเวศที่ราบ กว้างใหญ่ และแห้งแล้ง ซึ่งลมและสภาพแวดล้อมที่เปิดโล่งช่วยให้ทัมเบิลวีดสามารถกลิ้งได้โดยไม่มีสิ่งกีดขวาง
