ปลาบู่เกาะสุรินทร์ หรือ ปลาบู่ปาปัวนิวกินี (อังกฤษ : Aporos sleeper, Ornate sleeper, Snakehead gudgeon, Mud gudgeon ; ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ : Giuris margaritacea ) เป็นปลาน้ำจืด ชนิด หนึ่ง อยู่ในวงศ์ปลาบู่ทราย (Eleotridae) จัดเป็นเพียงชนิดเดียวเท่านั้นที่อยู่ในสกุล Giuris
มีรูปร่างคล้ายปลาบู่ทั่วไปผสมกับปลาช่อน คือ มีส่วนหัวใหญ่และกลมมน เป็นปลาที่มีสี สันสวย งามมากชนิดหนึ่ง ลำตัวเป็นสีเหลือง อมส้ม มีจุดประสีส้มและสีฟ้า อมน้ำเงิน ที่แก้มและคางมีสีส้มสด ครีบต่าง ๆ เป็นสีฟ้าหรือน้ำเงินแลดูสวยงาม
มีขนาดความยาวเต็มที่ 40 เซนติเมตร ขนาดโดยเฉลี่ยประมาณ 20-25 เซนติเมตร ตัวผู้ มีครีบและมีสีสดสวยกว่าตัวเมียอย่างเห็นได้ชัดเจน
เป็นปลาที่พบแพร่กระจายพันธุ์อย่างกว้างขวาง โดยพบในลำธาร หรือบริเวณปากแม่น้ำ ที่เป็นน้ำกร่อย ติดกับทะเล ตั้งแต่ชายฝั่งมหาสมุทรอินเดีย จากแอฟริกาตอนใต้ ถึงอินโดนีเซีย รวมถึงหมู่เกาะ ต่าง ๆ ในมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก เช่น ปาปัวนิวกินี , เมลานีเซีย , ปาเลา , เกาะเซเลบีส , เกาะโอกินาวา ไปจนถึงตอนเหนือของออสเตรเลีย ส่วนในประเทศไทย พบเพียงที่เดียว คือ ในลำธารที่หมู่เกาะสุรินทร์ ในเขตทะเลอันดามัน
เป็นปลาที่กินสัตว์น้ำ ขนาดเล็กต่าง ๆ รวมถึงแมลงน้ำ เป็นอาหาร ฟักไข่และวัยอ่อนเจริญเติบโตในทะเล ก่อนจะอพยพเข้าสู่น้ำจืด หรือน้ำกร่อย เมื่อเจริญวัยขึ้น
นิยมเลี้ยงเป็นปลาสวยงาม ถือเป็นปลาที่มีความสวยงาม เลี้ยงได้ง่าย เนื่องจากอุปนิสัยที่ไม่หลบซ่อนตัว และไม่ดุร้ายก้าวร้าวต่อปลาอื่นในที่เลี้ยง อีกทั้งยังกินอาหารสำเร็จรูป ได้อีกด้วย
