มาร์ค ทิลเดน

มาร์ค ทิลเดน (อังกฤษ: Mark W. Tilden) เป็นนักวิทยาการหุ่นยนต์ และเป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในฐานะของผู้บุกเบิกแนวคิดทางในการประดิษฐ์หุ่นยนต์ที่มีการเคลื่อนที่ซับซ้อนแต่ใช้การออกแบบวงจรทางไฟฟ้าที่เรียบง่าย โดยหุ่นยนต์ของทิวเดนส่วนใหญ่มักจะใช้วงจรแอนะล็อกอย่างง่าย (อย่างเช่น อุปกรณ์เปรียบเทียบ (Comparator) และออสซิลเลเตอร์ (Oscillator))ในการสร้างสัญญาณสั่งให้ตัวขับ (actuator) ทำงานได้ และไม่ได้อาศัยไมโครคอนโทรลเลอร์ในการควบคุมและประมวลผลสัญญาณ ซึ่งต่อมาแนวคิดดังกล่าวได้รับการต่อยอดเป็นแนวคิดที่เรียกว่า หุ่นยนต์แบบ BEAM นอกจากนี้ ทิลเดนยังเป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในฐานะผู้ประดิษฐ์หุ่นยนต์ฮิวแมนนอยด์ที่มีชื่อว่า โรโบซาเปี้ยน (Robosapien) ผลิตโดยบริษัท WowWee

ประวัติ

ทิวเดนเกิดที่สหราชอาณาจักร ในปี ค.ศ. 1961 แต่เติบโตในแคนาดา และเข้าศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัยวอเตอร์ลู (University of Waterloo) ต่อมาเข้าทำงานที่ห้องทดลองแห่งชาติ ลอส อลามอส (Los Alamos National Laboratory)ซึ่งระหว่างนี้ ทิวเดน ได้ประดิษฐ์หุ่นยนต์อย่าง SATbot ซึ่งมีความสามารถในการจัดเรียงตัวเองได้ตามแนวสนามแม่เหล็กของโลก นอกจากนี้ยังพัฒนาทฤษฎีและการประยุกต์โครงข่ายประสาทเทียม, ยานสำรวจระหว่างดาวเคราะห์, การศึกษาพฤติกรรมบนหุ่นยนต์แบบ BEAM ที่ใช้แผงเซลล์แสงอาทิตย์ ปัจจุบัน ทิวเดน ทำงานเป็นนักออกแบบหุ่นยนต์อิสระในฮ่องกง, ที่ปรึกษา และวิทยากร
