ประวัติ

โกลด์สเวิร์ทธีผู้เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 26 กรกฎาคม ค.ศ. 1956 ที่เชสเชอร์ในสหราชอาณาจักรเป็นบุตรของอัลลิน โกลด์สเวิร์ทธี (ค.ศ. 1929–ค.ศ. 2001) อดีตศาสตราจารย์ทางสาขาคณิตศาสตร์ประยุกต์ ที่ มหาวิทยาลัยลีดส์ โกลด์สเวิร์ทธีเติบโตขึ้นทางด้านฮาร์โรเกทของลีดส์ในเวสต์ยอรค์เชอร์ ตั้งแต่อายุได้ 13 ปีโกลด์สเวิร์ทธีก็ทำงานในฟาร์ม และมีความเห็นว่าคุณสมบัติของงานประจำที่ซ้ำๆ กันของงานที่เกี่ยวกับการทำฟาร์มก็คล้ายคลึงกันกับกระบวนการสร้างงานประติมากรรม ดังที่กล่าวไว้ว่า “งานส่วนใหญ่ของผมก็คือการขุดเก็บมันฝรั่ง ที่คุณต้องจับจุดให้เข้ากับจังหวะ (rhythm) ของงาน”

ลักษณะงานศิลปะ
