ปลาฉลามหางยาวธรรมดา หรือ ปลาฉลามเทรเชอร์ (อังกฤษ : Common thresher shark, Thresher shark, Long-tailed thresher shark ; ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ : Alopias vulpinus ) ปลากระดูกอ่อนชนิดหนึ่ง จำพวกปลาฉลาม อยู่ในวงศ์ปลาฉลามหางยาว (Alopiidae)
โดยที่คำว่า vulpinus นั้นแปลงมาจากภาษาละติน คำว่า vulpes หมายถึง "หมาจิ้งจอก " ซึ่งในบางแหล่งข้อมูลที่มีข้อมูลเก่าอาจจะใช้ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ว่า Alopias vulpes
จัดเป็นปลาฉลามกินเนื้อที่มีขนาดใหญ่ชนิดหนึ่ง โดยมีความยาวเฉลี่ยเต็มที่ประมาณ 5.5-6.1 เมตร น้ำหนักตัวหนักได้ถึง 499 กิโลกรัม มีลักษณะเด่น คือ ครีบหางส่วนบนที่ยาวมาก คิดเป็นร้อยละ 50 ของขนาดตัว และมีน้ำหนักส่วนหางมากถึงร้อยละ 33 ของน้ำหนักตัวทั้งหมด ซึ่งครีบหางนี้ยามว่ายน้ำสามารถโบกขึ้นลงไปในแนวตั้งได้ด้วย ส่วนหัวมีขนาดกลมเล็ก ปากเล็ก ขากรรไกรเล็ก ภายในปากมีฟันแหลม ๆ คมซี่เล็ก ๆ จำนวนมาก ดวงตากลมโตมีขนาดใหญ่ ลำตัวสีขาวปลอดหรือขาวเงินแวววาวทั้งตัว ครีบอกแหลมยาว ครีบหลังตอนที่ 2 มีขนาดเล็ก
ปลาฉลามหางยาวธรรมดา เป็นปลาฉลามที่มีนิสัยขี้อาย มักพบเห็นตัวได้ยากมาก เป็นปลาที่หากินและอาศัยอยู่ตามลำพัง โดยล่าปลาขนาดเล็กรวมถึงสัตว์น้ำอื่น ๆ กินเป็นอาหาร โดยมีวิธีการล่าเหยื่อด้วยการตีวนรอบฝูงเหยื่อให้เกิดน้ำวน เพื่อให้เหยื่อเกิดอาการตื่นตระหนกและจับทิศทางไม่ถูก จากนั้นปลาฉลามหางยาวธรรมดาก็จะว่ายผ่าตรงกลางวงไปงับกินเหยื่อทันที จัดเป็นปลาฉลามอีกชนิดหนึ่งที่ว่ายน้ำได้ว่องไวมาก
เป็นปลาที่พบได้ทั่วโลกในทะเลและมหาสมุทรเขตร้อนและเขตอบอุ่น แต่ก็ถือว่าเป็นปลาที่พบเห็นได้ยากมาก สามารถพบเห็นได้ในที่ลึกถึง 500 เมตร แต่ปลาฉลามหางยาวธรรมดาก็สามารถว่ายเข้าชายฝั่งและเขตที่น้ำตื้นได้ด้วยเช่นกัน รวมถึงสามารถกระโดดได้สูงขึ้นเหนือน้ำได้ด้วย
เป็นปลาที่ออกลูกเป็นตัว โดยลูกปลาจะกินกันเองตั้งแต่อยู่ในท้องแม่เหมือนปลาฉลามชนิดอื่นอีกหลายชนิด ลูกปลาแรกเกิดมีความยาวประมาณ 1.5 เมตร โดยออกลูกครั้งละ 2-6 ตัว
เป็นปลาฉลามอีกชนิดหนึ่ง ที่ถูกคุกคามจนใกล้สูญพันธุ์จากการทำประมง จนถูกจัดให้เป็นหนึ่งใน 10 ชนิดของปลาฉลามที่ใกล้สูญพันธุ์ที่สุดของโลก โดยนำชิ้นส่วนต่าง ๆ ไปแปรรูปเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ต่าง ๆ หรือบริโภคเป็นปลาเศรษฐกิจ ที่เกาะมาลาปาสกัว ทางตอนเหนือของเกาะเซบู ในทะเลฟิลิปปิน เป็นสถานที่แห่งหนึ่งที่พบปลาฉลามหางยาวธรรมดาได้บ่อย จนกลายเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวดำน้ำดูปลาฉลามหางยาวจนขึ้นชื่อ
