Ardea alba melanorhynchos นกยางโทนใหญ่ (อังกฤษ: Great egret; ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์: Ardea alba) เป็นนกลุยน้ำขนาดใหญ่ในวงศ์นกยาง (Ardeidae) มีขนสีขาวตลอดตัว คอยาว มีลักษณะคล้ายนกยางโทนน้อย แต่ปากจะยาวกว่า หัวไม่กลมเหมือนนกยางโทนน้อย
ลักษณะทั่วไป นกยางโทนใหญ่เป็นนกขนาดใหญ่มีขนาดความยาวลำตัวประมาณ 90 เซนติเมตร สีขาวตลอดตัว คอยาว ปากยาว แหลมมีสีเหลือง ตาเหลือง ไม่มีเปีย ขาและนิ้วเท้าดำ ในฤดูผสมพันธุ์มีขนประดับเป็นเส้นยาว ๆ อยู่บนหลังและยาวเลยหางออกไปเล็กน้อย นกยางโทนทั้งตัวผู้และตัวเมียมีลักษณะคล้ายกัน ในฤดูผสมพันธุ์ปากจะมีสีดำ
ถิ่นอาศัย ในประเทศไทย นกยางโทนใหญ่พบได้ในทุกภาคของประเทศ ตามหนองน้ำ ที่ราบน้ำท่วมถึง และตามท้องนาในฤดูฝน เป็นนกประจำถิ่นที่พบได้บ่อยและมีบางส่วนเป็นนกอพยพ
พฤติกรรม นกยางโทนใหญ่หากินตามที่ราบที่น้ำท่วมถึง หนองบึง ทะเลสาบ และตามป่าชายเลน กินสัตว์น้ำ กบ เขียด แมลง และสัตว์ขนาดเล็กอื่นเป็นอาหาร นกยางโทนใหญ่ผสมพันธุ์ในฤดูฝนและอยู่กันเป็นฝูงชอบทำรังรวมกันอยู่บนต้นไม้ต้นเดียวกันกับนกยางชนิดอื่น รังทำด้วยกิ่งไม้แห้งๆ เล็กๆ ขัดสานกัน มีแอ่งตรงกลางสำหรับ เพศผู้และเพศเมียช่วยกันทำรัง กกไข่ และเลี้ยงดูลูก วางไข่คราวละ 3–4 ฟอง ระยะฟักไข่ 25–26 วัน
สถานะการอนุรักษ์ นกยางโทนใหญ่เป็นสัตว์ป่าคุ้มครอง ตามพระราชบัญญัติสงวนและคุ้มครองสัตว์ป่า พุทธศักราช 2535
