อัลกุรอาน บ้างเรียก โกหร่าน หรือ โก้หร่าน (อาหรับ: القرآن, แปลตรงตัว 'สิ่งที่ถูกอ่าน') เป็นคัมภีร์ของศาสนาอิสลามที่มุสลิมเชื่อว่าถูกประทานมาจากพระเป็นเจ้า (อัลลอฮ์) ซึ่งถือกันโดยทั่วไปกว่าเป็นผลงานวรรณกรรมภาษาอาหรับคลาสสิกที่ดีที่สุด อัลกุรอานแบ่งออกเป็น 114 บท (ซูเราะฮ์ (อาหรับ: سور; เอกพจน์: อาหรับ: سورة)) ซึ่งแบ่งออกเป็นหลายโองการ (อายะฮ์ (อาหรับ: آيات; เอกพจน์: อาหรับ: آية))

อัลกุรอานที่เปิดบนที่ตั้ง

ศัพทมูลวิทยาและความหมาย

สมัยศาสดา

การรวบรวมและรักษา

ชีอะฮ์รายงานว่า อะลี (เสียชีวิต ค.ศ. 661) รวมฉบับกุรอานไม่นานหลังมุฮัมมัดเสียชีวิต ถึงกระนั้น ท่านไม่ได้โต้แย้งในการทำกุรอานฉบับมาตรฐาน นอกจากนี้ยังมีกุรอานฉบับอื่น เช่นฉบับของอิบน์ มัสอูดกับอุบัย อิบน์ กะอับ ไม่มีเล่มใดเหลือรอดมาถึงปัจจุบัน

ความสำคัญในศาสนาอิสลาม

มุสลิมเชื่อว่าอัลกุรอานคือพระดำรัสสุดท้ายที่พระเจ้าประทานแก่มวลมนุษย์ ซึ่งเป็นคำแนะนำจากพระเจ้าที่เปิดเผยแก่มุฮัมมัดผ่านเทวทูตญิบรีล

การแปลอัลกุรอานมักมีปัญหาและความยุ่งยากเสมอ ส่วนใหญ่โต้แย้งว่าโองการในอัลกุรอานไม่สามารถแปลเป็นภาษาหรือรูปแบบอื่นได้ มากไปกว่านั้น คำศัพท์ภาษาอาหรับอาจมีหลายความหมายขึ้นอยู่กับรายละเอียด ทำให้การแปลอย่างสมบูรณ์ยิ่งยากขึ้นไปอีก
