ในทางภาษาศาสตร์สังคม สำเนียง (อังกฤษ: accent) คือวีธีการออกเสียงที่มีลักษณะเฉพาะของแต่ละบุคคล ท้องที่ หรือชาติหนึ่ง ๆ สำเนียงอาจผูกพันกับถิ่นที่อยู่ของผู้พูด (สำเนียงภูมิภาคหรือภูมิศาสตร์) สถานะทางเศรษฐกิจสังคม ชาติพันธุ์ วรรณะหรือชนชั้นทางสังคม (สำเนียงทางสังคม) หรืออิทธิพลจากภาษาแม่ของพวกเขา (สำเนียงต่างประเทศ)
