การไม่มีศาสนา

การไม่มีศาสนา (อังกฤษ: Irreligion หรือ No religion) หมายความว่า ภาวะที่ไม่นับถือศาสนา ไม่แบ่งแยกศาสนา หรือเป็นปรปักษ์ต่อศาสนา ผู้ที่มีภาวะดังกล่าวเรียกว่า ผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนา

ว่ากันตามแต่ละนิยามหรือความเข้าใจของบุคคล การไม่มีศาสนาอาจเข้าใจได้ว่าหมายถึง อเทวนิยม (Atheism), อไญยนิยม (Agnosticism), ศาสนวิมตินิยม (Religious Skepticism) หรือ มนุษยนิยมแบบฆราวาส (Secular Humanism) เป็นต้น สำหรับในบางสังคมอาจไม่ยอมรับการไม่มีศาสนา หรืออาจมีอคติต่อผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนา เช่นการเหมารวมว่าคนที่ไม่มีศาสนาทั้งหมดคือคนที่ชั่วร้าย เป็นต้น บ่อยครั้งที่มีผู้วิพากษ์วิจารณ์ว่าผู้ก่อเหตุอาชญากรรมหรือผู้ก่อการร้ายเป็นผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนา แม้ว่าผู้ก่อเหตุจะแสดงตัวว่ามีศาสนาก็ตาม

ผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนาอาจเข้าใจการไม่มีศาสนาเท่า ๆ กับศาสนิกชน เช่น ผู้นับถือลัทธิมนุษยนิยมมีความคิดอย่างลึกซึ้งยิ่งในวัตรปฏิบัติของตนเองพอ ๆ กับความลึกซึ้งของความคิดที่ศาสนิกชนมีต่อศาสนาของตน เป็นต้น

ถึงแม้ว่าคนที่ระบุว่าตนเองเป็นผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนาจะมิได้รับนับถือศาสนาใด ๆ แต่ผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนาบางกลุ่มยังคงเชื่อถือในเทวะหรือผีสางนางไม้เป็นต้น เช่น คนที่นับถือผีหรือเชื่อโชคลาง แต่ไม่ได้ประกอบพิธีกรรมใด ๆ หรือไม่ได้เป็นศาสนิก เป็นต้น

พึงทราบว่า ในบางประเทศ เช่น ประเทศซาอุดิอาระเบีย บังคับให้พลเมืองต้องเป็นศาสนิกชน หรือในบางสังคมที่ไม่ยอมรับการไม่มีศาสนาอาจมีผู้ที่ไม่เปิดเผยว่าตนเป็นผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนาในการสำรวจข้อมูลหรือการทำสำมะโนประชากร ดังนั้น จำนวนของผู้ที่ไม่มีศาสนาในโลกนี้จึงยังไม่อาจระบุให้เป็นที่แน่นอนได้ แต่คาดว่าอาจมีมากกว่า 900 ล้านคนทั่วโลก
