ราชวงศ์ตีมูร์
ราชวงศ์ตีมูร์ หรือ จักรวรรดิตีมูร์ (อังกฤษ: Timurid dynasty, เปอร์เซีย: تیموریان ตั้งตนเป็นGurkānī , เปอร์เซีย: گوركانى) เป็นราชวงศ์หนึ่งของจักรวรรดิเปอร์เชียของซุนนีย์มุสลิมในเอเชียกลางที่เดิมมาจากผู้สืบเชื้อสายจากราชวงศ์เติร์ก-มองโกล (Turko-Mongol) ผู้ปกครองจักรวรรดิที่ครอบคลุมเอเชียกลางทั้งหมด, อิหร่าน, อัฟกานิสถาน และส่วนใหญ่ของปากีสถาน, อินเดีย, เมโสโปเตเมีย และ คอเคซัส จักรวรรดิตีมูร์ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยตีมูร์ในคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 14

ในคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 16 เจ้าแห่งราชวงศ์ตีมูร์ บาบูร์ (Babur) ผู้ครองเฟอร์กานา (Ferghana) ก็เข้ารุกรานอินเดียและทำการก่อตั้งจักรวรรดิโมกุลที่ปกครองดินแดนส่วนใหญ่ของอนุทวีปอินเดียจนกระทั่งมาเสื่อมโทรมลงในสมัยของจักรพรรดิออรังเซพ (Aurangzeb) เมื่อต้นคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 18 และถูกยุบอย่างเป็นทางการโดยบริติชราชหลังกบฏอินเดีย ค.ศ. 1857
